Queen Nanny of the Maroons the Akan Journey out of Ethiopia into Egypt into the Nile Valley, to Timbuktu Mali, Ghana into Deuteronomy 28

SANKOFA Ghanaian author, scholar, professor and Akan chief; Nana Darkwah analysed Egyptian and African history, culture, archaeology, religion and linguistics, as well as Jewish history, biblical history and DNA evidence. They broke down more than 15 books from the Old Testament Bible to show that these books’ names were originally African, more specifically Akan names.

They even claimed that the word Israel itself is an Akan word. They point to the story of Jacob in Genesis 32:24-29, where the angel renames Jacob calling him Asrae or the European version, Israel. Asrae, Darkwah declares, is not the name of a nation, but instead means “the first one who visited”. Ancient Egypt was known indigenously as Kemet (Land of the Blacks). Ancient Egypt was geographically in Africa and the so called European experts do not know the Ancient Egyptian story because they are not familiar with African tribal names. They do not have the linguistic and cultural backgrounds to identify Egyptian names and have simply transposed the African names of people and places in Ancient Egyptian history into European languages to make it possible for them to claim expertise. The ancient past of African tribes can be traced from the Middle East through Ancient Egypt to inner Africa.

The African tribe that historians gave the fictitious names the Sumerians, Akkadians, and the African Tribes actual were the Ancient Egyptians. The Ancient Egyptian cross is the earliest and most ancient sacred symbol of religion. Egyptologists believe they have successfully deciphered Ancient Egyptian hieroglyphics say it is called the ANKH, meaning LIFE. The meaning is correct, however, that is not what the Ancient Egyptians called it. The original Ancient Egyptian word that Egyptologists tried to decipher was NKWA. It is derived from the Akan language and it actually means LIFE. This symbol was the Ancient Egyptian sacred religious symbol that reinforced the cross on which Jesus was crucified, as a sacred Christian symbol. How did this happen? The early Christian Church of Ancient Egypt adopted the NKWA symbol as the symbol of their Church and called it Crux Ansata.

From here, it was taken to Rome, and there it became a Christian symbol with only a slight variation in design. The symbol of NKWA below was excavated from the tomb of the Akan King Tutu Ankoma, the boy king of Ancient Egypt whose name Europeans have corrupted to Tutankhamun. His actual name was Tutu Ankoma – and not Tutankhamun. Not only do we know the indigenous African tribal name of this Ancient Egyptian king but we also know where the modern Dynasty of his ancient Dynasty is today. We know in Africa that the Ancient Egyptian king who built the middle pyramid in Giza was called Akufu and not Khufu as the experts have told us. We also know that his two sons completed the procession of pyramids and placed a lion in the front of the procession. These sons were Dade Afre and not Djedefra as the experts transposed this name and his brother was Ochere Afre and not Chephren as the experts have told us. Western scholars also incorrectly named the Ancient Egyptian city “Memphis”. Memphis was actually an ancient African city and it is still a modern African city called Mamfe.

Mamfe is located today in the eastern region of Ghana (Akuapem). You can go to check these people out and verify the royal names among these people. Africans are the indigenous Native Hebrews (Jews). The greatest secret of Africa has never been told, and Christian Europe has been seeking to conceal for the past two thousand years is the African origin of the concepts, doctrines, sacramental practices of religion, and the documents that became the foundations of Christianity in Europe.

Did you know that the names of Abraham, Isaac, Esau, and Jacob were all derived from African tribal words and names? Did you know that the earliest “Hebrew” name for God, Adonai, was derived from an African tribal word? Did you know that other name of God, Yahweh, was derived from an African tribal God? Did you know that the names of the authors of the Old Testament are not “Hebrew” or “Jewish” names, but transposed African tribal names? Christian Europe has never known these because it has never known the African linguistic and cultural side of the biblical story. Most Akan royals know the indigenous African tribal name of the people of the Exodus before they went to Europe to become the Jews and Hebrews.

A review of a DNA study of Jewish people African tribes discovered one of the African tribes from which some of the people of the Exodus originated. Check it out in the New York Times of May 9, 1999. What does this prove? It proves the Ancient Egyptian and biblical stories were all Black people’s stories. The Ancient Egyptians were Black people and their modern descendants are alive and well in Africa. Real evidence of the modern descendants of the Ancient Egyptians in the tribes of Africa and the language and culture these people left behind in Ancient Egypt is the most powerful evidence there is about the Black racial origin of the Ancient Egyptians. In the 1960’s and 1970’s there were Jewish scholars who were secretly travelling around Africa researching African Tribes to find out from which tribe they belonged.

They studied the Akan Religion of the Asante people to find out the similarities between Judaism and Christianity. The word Israel was derived from an African Tribal meaning. Most “Jewish” people still carry their African Tribal names of origin. Have you ever thought about the fact, why the organization of the Asante government is shaped like a pyramid? Ancient Egypt was headed by ethnic groups as the Akan, Ewe, Ga-Andangbe, Hausa, and Ibo. However, the Akan was the main ruling class in Ancient Egypt since the majority of Ancient Egyptian Kings had Akan names.

The early apostolic fathers of Christianity and the Church knew of many things they did not want the Christian masses to know about the background history, content, and people of the Bible”. Akan stretches back to the ancient Afurakani/Afuraitkaitnit (African/Black) civilizations of Keneset (ancient Kush/Nubia/Ethiopia), Kemit (ancient Egypt) and beyond. For thousands of years up to this day, we have preserved our culture, a culture which has survived various challenges including forced migrations and the enslavement period. In fact, it is estimated that the largest percentage of Afurakanu/Afuraitkaitnut (Africans) brought to English-speaking colonies during the enslavement period were from the Akan grouping. This fact speaks to the phenomenon of great and growing interest that many Afurakanu/Afuraitkaitnut (Africans) in the Americas, the Caribbean and Europe have in Akan culture and symbolism today.

For instance have you heard about the Maroon? In fact, the Maroon people developed their own way of life by incorporating the various cultures with those of the other runaway slaves who made up the diverse Maroons. Many of the slaves brought over came from different parts of Africa, and therefore, were unable to communicate by verbal means with other slaves. It was later, when a common language came about. While the Maroons’ language was not uniformly a product of Akan origins, one can find extensive Akan influence on the Maroons and Jamaicans of African origin generally by looking at naming and behaviour patterns as well as their religious belief. Many of them strongly adapted the slogan Asante Kotoko and were encouraged by the Asantes, who had resisted their oppressors. Jamaican Maroons fought British colonists to a draw and eventually sign.

Many of the names used by the Maroons come from Africa, and often from particular regions of Africa. One of the most recognisable African naming patterns in both North America and the Caribbean is the custom of day names. This came about, because Akan day names predominated among the Maroons and other African people of Jamaica. For example, a baby born on Sunday was named Quashie by the Maroons instead of Kwesi. Other examples: Akan: Maroons: Kwame Quamin Kofi Cuffe Kweku Quaco Kwabena Bene In fact many trace their origin to the Koromanti people. Jamaican planters used the term Koromanti to refer to the Akan people in particular the Asantes. In the earliest years of the British settlement the Koromantis were the most stubborn, and yet, the most respected.

Many of them were experienced with military methods because of the fighting and wars they encountered in Africa. They were a very proud and disciplined group. No maroons were feared by the British as those from Jamaica. These were the ones of mainly Akan origin. When the British captured Jamaica in 1655 the Spanish colonists fled leaving a large number of African slaves. The British felt that the characteristics of these people would make them good slaves. They assumed their pride and discipline might make them want to do their work to the best of their ability. Rather than be re-enslaved by the British, they escaped into the hilly, mountainous regions of the island. They fought against slavery and maintained their independence from the British. The British even wanted them to fight on their behalf against the Spanish and French, but they kindly rejected. To this day, the Maroons in Jamaica are to a large extent autonomous and separate from Jamaican culture. The actual group of people that the Akans originated from were the Horites in Canaan at Mount Seir. Extract from Genesis 36:2 Esau took his wives from the women of Canaan: Adah daughter of Elon the Hittite, and Oholibamah daughter of Anah and granddaughter of Zibeon the Hivite. Vrs 20: These were the sons of Seir the Horite, who were living in the region: Lotan, Shobal, Zibeon, Anah, vrs 2 1: Dishon, Ezer and Dishan. These sons of Seir in Edom were Horite chiefs. The sons of Ezer: Bilhan, Zaavan and “Akan”.

From the old Kingdom “Gana”, the Akan people moved to present day Ghana (Gonjaland). They went there for religious freedom, since the rejected the Islam, which then the armovid tried to impose on them. Before that the King of Gana had been the richest King in the world. Akan history (African Kingdom Federation):The Akan people of West Africa are believed to have migrated to the present day area from the Middle East near the Wilderness of the Seir Mountains and were originally part of the Horite Group who lived on the Seir Mountains before the Patriarch Esau moved there to form the Edomite nation (see Jaakan or AKAN).

The House of ‘Ra – (over 10,000 years old) is the Imperial Throne House of the hundreds of Royal Houses of the Thrones of the Nubia/Kush Nubian/Shebah Imperial Empire Kingdoms and descendent Nations Kingdoms Lines in Africa. The House of ‘Ra Nubia/Sheba Imperial Kingdom the Throne under its present Imperial lines ruler the Imperial Matriarch H.I.M Empress Shebah ‘Ra – Queen Shebah III – Queen of the Sheba Kingdom Empire Nations of Nubia-Kush, is the oldest Empire Kingdom in Africa, and the world as a whole. Out of this Imperial Royal line came the Akans who founded the old Akana Empire that ruled for over thousand years the confluence of the Niger and the vast regions of Western Africa. After the Jews defeated the Edomites, the Akans moved and established alliance with the Israelites up to the time of King Solomon. The Akans have always been the ruling class.

Through the ages they established various kingdoms from the Mesopotamia to Ethiopia, Kush, Egypt, Nubia and on to the formation of the Akana (Ghana) Empire in West Africa. Through royal marriages established by King Solomon, princes born to Solomon from the various royal houses, founded great kingdoms along the Nile valley for centuries around Egypt, Nubia and Ethiopia before moving on to ancient Ghana, present day Mali, by the first century AD. Our Ancestors, descendants of the PATRIACH AKAN, have, after the fall of King Solomon from his Monotheistic Religion due to his many wives, developed a Polytheistic religious base with their Atannos and build the viable clan kingdoms that culminated into the Akana (Ghana) Empire that flourished in that area from 300 AD to 1100 AD.

The Empire was ruled by the eight principal patriarchs of the Akan royal Family namely, Ekuona, Adako and Oyoko, Aduana, Asona, Bretuo, Asona, Asene, Agona and Asakyiri. Having fallen short of the glory of God whom they worshiped through their ATANO’S (lesser gods) in shrines, established by King Solomon for his various wives, Ancestress of our forebears, the Akans tenaciously held onto their form of worship .The invasion of the Amoravid, brought about the Islamic religion.

The Akans rejected Islam because of their own beliefs in the One God, Oboadae Onyankonpon Kwame – God the Creator. The invasion and the forced imposition of Islam, made our ancestors resist the newcomers and after heavy warfare, they moved from their Capital Sikassou in present day Mali to Gonja in present day northern Ghana.
